Lifeguard’s desperate search for driver as van found submerged in sea off Yorkshire coast
Lifeguards carried out a frantic search for a driver and passengers after discovering a van almost completely submerged in the sea off the Yorkshire coast.
Bridlington RNLI have released video footage of their rescue mission close to Sewerby in East Yorkshire on Tuesday 1 August,
The van, which was found almost fully submerged, was spotted just after first light with the HM Coastguards requesting the immediate launch of the Bridlington RNLI inshore lifeboat ‘Ernie Wellings’ at 5:49am.
Thankfully the vehicle was unoccupied and the driver safely located on the beach.
