Do Americans recognize Keir Starmer - the new UK Prime Minister

Sir Keir Starmer has stormed to a landslide vicory in the UK's General Election, winning a sizeable majority.

His position as Prime Minister makes him a world leader, and one of the most powerful people on the planet.

But, in New York City's iconic Times Square, a picture of Sir Keir addressing the nation this morning didn't illicit much recognition.

Just two of the people The Independent spoke to recognized Mr Starmer as the new Prime Minister, and none could name him.
