Streets submerged by water as flash flooding hits southern Italy
Footage shows streets submerged by water after flash flooding hit southern Italy on Thursday 25 May.
Italy’s fire and rescue service shared a video of the heavy rains in the region of Irpinia, where cars and a bus can be seen wading through the water.
The authorities are also engaged in flood relief, with the areas of Forino, Celzi and Montoro most affected by the adverse weather.
Areas of northern Italy, including the Emilia-Romagna region, have been badly hit by flooding in recent weeks.
