Trees torn and roofs ripped: The aftermath of deadly Hurricane Beryl
Jamaica has been left with a trail of destruction in the wake of category four storm, Hurricane Beryl, with trees felled and damage to buildings across the island.
Hurricane Beryl brought winds of up to 120mph as well as heavy rain, with prime minister Andrew Holness encouraging residents to take the storm “seriously” and find shelter.
Waters along the coast rose up to 2.7 metres above their usual level, and locals could be in their ‘safe’ places for up to 12 hours more while the storm calms down.
Seven people are thought to have died so far.
