Exhausted survivors rest after 79 die in migrant shipwreck off Greek coast
Exhausted survivors rested in a hangar in Kalamata Port after surviving a deadly shipwreck off the Greek coast on Wednesday 14 June.
An overloaded fishing boat with migrants trying to reach Europe capsized and sank, authorities said, leaving at least 79 dead and many more missing in one of the worst disasters of its kind this year.”
A number of people missing persons may be really high right now”, Erasmia Roumana, senior protection associate at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said.”
But because there is no concrete number of how many were on board, we hear about 750 people.”
