Brandy-drinking murderer returns to scene of crime to brag to police

A murderer returned to a crime scene in Chelmsford swigging from a bottle of brandy to brag to police officers.

Marek Hecko, 26, of Rookes Crescent, Chelmsford, killed father-of-two Adrian Ellingford, 44, in July 2022.

A court heard how Mr Ellingford was with a former partner of Hecko’s on the night of his death.

Footage shows a heavily-intoxicated Hecko approaching officers guarding the crime scene to tell them he knew what had happened and that he could help.

After he became confrontational, he was arrested and identified as the main suspect whilst in custody.
