Environmental activist says we should ‘give up pets’ to save planet
An environmental activist has told Good Morning Britain that people shouldn’t replace their pets when they die, due to the amount of carbon they produce.
Donnachadh McCarthy made the claims in an argument with host GMB Susanna Reid who said people viewed pets as a member of their family.
McCarthy, an environmental auditor and author, said he thought it was “shocking” that Reid wanted to prioritise her pets and her children, over looking after the environment.
“To look after and love your children you have to look after your carbon emissions,” McCarthy said.
