Emotional Adam Gemili reveals he injured hamstring before men’s Olympic 200m heats

An emotional Adam Gemili pulled up with a hamstring issue in the men’s 200m Tokyo Olympic heats after feeling an injury whilst leaving the blocks, and ended up limping around the track to finish more than a minute behind the rest of the pack.

In an emotional interview the sprinter revealed his hamstring went in his final warm-up before the race – but said he instructed his leg to be strapped up so that he could go out there and try to compete anyway.
