Joe Biden and Ursula von der Leyen enter talks to ease electric vehicle tax rift

Joe Biden and the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, are entering talks in a bid to ease an ongoing rift over electric vehicles.

Negotiations will be held regarding the use of European minerals that are critical in the production of batteries for electric vehicles that are eligible for US tax credits.

Biden set out the tax credits in his roughly 375 billion US dollar clean energy law that passed last year.

The progress would be a potential boost for EVs.
