Drunk driver plows into police vehicle, injuring officer

A drunk driver ploughed into a police vehicle and injured an officer who was conducting a traffic stop.

Body camera footage captures the City of Atlanta Police Department’s officer standing on the highway near his lit up vehicle as other cars speed past.

APD Officer Duc Vo’s vehicle is suddenly rear-ended and speeds towards him.

The impact “seriously injured” the officer and “severely damaged” his vehicle.

Vo was later nominated for a Purple Heart award.

Police confirmed driver Annette M Stewart “was arrested and charged with DUI, Alcohol Less Safe and Reckless Driving and was transported to Atlanta City Jail.”
