Drone struck by lava while circling Iceland volcano
A flying drone has captured the moment it was hit by spewing lava while it circled an erupting volcano in Iceland.
Frankfurt based filmmaker and certified drone pilot Daniel Haussmann recorded the moment flying debris from a lava fissure hit his airborne camera.
The short clip shows the active volcano from above before a projectile hits the drone and sends it careening sideways.
The first-person view flying drone took a tumble from the flying chunk of lava before the footage finally cuts out.
