China and Russia conduct joint navy drills in Sea of Japan
The joint Russian-Chinese naval exercises took place in the Sea of Japan from 14-17 October.
Russia and China held joint drills as part of the cooperation between the two countries, which involved warships and support vessels from the former’s Pacific Fleet.
On Tuesday (19 October) Japan confirmed the passage of naval vessels from both nations sailing together through the Tsugaru Strait.
The Japanese government confirmed it was closely watching the activities
Moscow and Beijing have cultivated closer military and diplomatic ties in recent years, as their relations with the West have soured.
