Burglar caught out by his distinctive sideburns
A burglar was caught out by his distinctive sideburns and has now been jailed for his crimes.
Dean Whyte, 52, tried to cover his face with a scarf when approaching two homes in Worksop in September, last year.
Analysis of security camera footage, however, revealed Whyte’s unruly sideburns and prominent cheekbones peeking into view.
Comparisons with Whyte’s custody image provided a clear match to the fleeting side profile captured during the offences.
Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (25 March) Whyte pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and one of attempted burglary.
Whyte was jailed for a total of four-and-a-half years.
