British holidaymaker rescues stranded safari tourist after car breaks down next to hungry wild lions
A British holidaymaker came to the rescue of a safari tourist who had broken down next to two wild hungry lions.
Richard Sandiland was on holiday in Kruger National Park, South Africa, on 12 May when a fellow visitor flagged their car had a flat battery and he needed help.
Mr Sandiland drove around and fortunately found another motorist who offered to help/
Mr Sandiland’s vehicle was used to block the lions from the stranded car passengers as the South African motorist bravely attached the jump leads to his own car and eventually got the engine running again.
Mr Sandiland said: “It was definitely scary.
“I guess that lion could have been on us in seconds and they are so huge close up.”
