Boris Johnson says he doesn’t understand why he was fined for Partygate

Boris Johnson said that he “still doesn’t understand the rationale” behind his Partygate fine.

He made the remark during his address at the BrandFinance global soft power summit in Westminster on Thursday, 2 March.

It marked his first major European speech since he stood down as prime minister last year.

Johnson said that he does, however, “understand the key point,” which is that the law is enforced in the UK “without fear or favour.”
