Dame Esther Rantzen’s daughter has pleaded for England to follow in Scotland’s footsteps as the country could become the first part of the UK to offer terminally ill adults assistance to end their lives.
Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP Liam McArthur tabled the assisted dying for terminally ill adults (Scotland) bill on Thursday (28 March).
Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Rebecca Wilcox urged “some lobbyists” who are not “vocalising true feelings” about assisted dying to speak out.
She said: “I want people to say if it is a reason of faith.
“Faith is a beautiful wonderful thing, I really admire it, but I don’t think it should affect my mum’s decision on how much pain she has at the end of her life.”
