French driver who found British teenager Alex Batty recalls taking him to police station
The driver who picked up missing British teenager Alex Batty and took him to a police station in southwestern France has recalled the conversations they shared.
Batty, who is now 17, went missing six years ago in 2017 after going on a family holiday to Spain.
Detectives believe he was abducted by his mother Melanie Batty to live an “alternative” lifestyle abroad.
Fabien Accidini spotted the teenager looking lost and haggard by the side of a road on Wednesday 13 December and drove him to a police station.
“During the drive we would talk about his situation and he told me that he was kidnapped by his mother and grandfather when he was in Morocco,” Mr Accidini said.
“He just wanted to have a normal life, to see his grandmother again and to have a normal future.”
