This asteroid is worth more money than Earth produces in a year

An asteroid with an estimated worth of $10 quintillion could shed light on the formation of the solar system if scientists are able to study it further.

Named 16 Psyche by Italian astronomer Annibale de Gasparis, the asteroid is believed to have a value of $10,000,000,000,000,000,000.

The reason for this is that it is almost entirely made up from iron and nickel – with asteroids tending to be just rocky and icy in nature. To put that into context, its value is roughly 10,000 times the GDP of the Earth in 2019.
