Tesla set to expand its self-driving beta testing

Tesla is to expand its "full self-driving" beta testing so thousands more of the electric car’s owners will be able to try out the software for themselves.

In order to be able to access the beta version of the new software, drivers will have to allow the company to track their driving behaviours for seven days to see if they are deemed safe.

While Elon Musk has spoken about a future where there are millions of driverless taxis, the new offering from his company is a far cry from this dream and requires the drivers to remain alert at all times.
