Diver swims below pod of giant sperm whales in stunning footage

Watch as a free diver swims beneath a pod of giant sperm whales in Mauritius.

The diving enthusiast seized the moment to plunge into the sea to pursue the whales for almost a minute on 13 May.

Footage shows the woman snorkelling with the three marine giants, all the while holding her breath.

Sperm whales are the largest toothed whales in the world, with males weighing up to 50 tonnes.

Recently, scientists claim to have successfully “conversed” with a whale in a new study.
