‘I married my favourite schoolteacher despite 25-year age gap, we get mistaken for mother and daughter’
A woman who married her favourite schoolteacher, despite a 25-year-age gap, says they are often mistaken for mother and daughter when out in public.
Monica Foster, 32, first met her now-wife, Michelle, 57, in 2004 when she was her science teacher.
Sixteen years later, Monica searched on Facebook to see how her former favourite teacher was doing.
The pair met up and became close friends before developing a romantic connection.
They married earlier this year.
While Monica “didn’t really have concerns” about the age gap, Michelle initially struggled.
She said: “People ask ‘is that your mum’ or even ‘is that your grandma’ all the time.
