What is the Order of the Garter?
The Order of the Garter is the most senior order of chivalry in Britain.
It was in 1348 by King Edward III, who was inspired by the legend of King Arthur.
Today, the King and other members of the royal family are members of the Order, alongside 24 knights chosen in recognition of their work.
Garter Day is celebrated each year in the grounds of Windsor Castle with a procession led by the monarch and a service.
The Duke of York will reportedly not participate in Monday’s (19 June) procession for the second year in a row, King Charles III’s first as Britain’s monarch.
