Thousands of crickets swarm over Nevada home
A swarm of Mormon crickets took over a Nevada resident's home as the insects made their presence well known in western US towns.
Craig Chamberlain posted footage on TikTok showing thousands of the critters crawling over his property to the horror of some commenters.
"No, I'd have to leave," one user said of the spectacle.
Mr Chamberlain told The Independent the insects were crawling over his house on 18 May.
According to the University of Nevada, Reno, the flightless insects have historically been a problem for the state.
Outbreaks have worsened in the last few years; the university says drought encourages them, and outbreaks can last several years causing substantial economic losses to rangeland, cropland, and home gardens.
