Martin Lewis warns children born in these years are missing out on thousands of pounds
Martin Lewis has warned that children aged 13 to 22 could be missing out on thousands of pounds of savings.
The Money Saving Expert explained how children born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011 would have automatically had a Child Trust Fund set up for them by the government.
Appearing on This Morning today (15 October), Mr Lewis said: “This is a tax-free form of savings and was automatically set up. The state added money to it and everyone who has one will have at least £250 in it.
“Many people included are now over the state age of 18 and can access it, but there are currently 671,0000 18 to 21 year olds who have not touched theirs.”
