How just 22 minutes of your day can reduce risk of dying earlier
Dr Zoe Williams appeared on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday 26 October to discuss how a brisk 22-minute walk each day could help improve your health and “reduce the risk of dying young”.
She told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary that “22 minutes of brisk walking also reduces your risk of breast cancer, colon cancer, depression, falls and many other chronic diseases” according to a recent study.
“A really key point of this was that actually if you’re only doing 10 minutes [of activity] a day or even five minutes, every additional minute that people did in this study improved their health and reduced their risk of dying young.”
Hammond then summed up the study by saying: “Do something every day.”
