King Charles speaks in German at state banquet in Berlin
King Charles III spoke in German as he addressed a banquet in Berlin during his first state visit to the country as monarch.
“Over all these years, and in so many ways, I have been struck by the warmth of the friendship between our nations and by the vitality of our partnership in countless areas,” the King said.
His Majesty was joined by the Queen Consort in the city on Wednesday, 29 March.
Earlier in the day, the King planted a tree with German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
