This Morning acknowledges gravity of coeliac disease after Vanessa Feltz comments
This Morning has acknowledged how serious coeliac disease can be after Vanessa Feltz’s comments on the condition prompted backlash.
The broadcaster, 61, responded to a caller who complained that she was “being forced to have a gluten-free Christmas“ by her mother-in-law due to a family member being coeliac.
Ms Feltz said the mother-in-law was “completely unreasonable”, prompting viewers on social media to call the comments “ignorant.”
On Tuesday, (19 December), This Morning appeared to address the backlash, with Dr Zoe Williams describing how damaging the disease can be and the importance of avoiding cross-contamination.
