Consumers lost over $770m to online scammers in 2021

The pandemic had had an immense impact on the success and volume of online scammers.

Unsurprisingly, we’ve all been spending a lot of time online, and so have the hackers.

Fox 26 Houston has revealed a whopping $770 million have been scammed from American consumers in 2021 alone.

Three quarters of a billion dollars were lost, and one of the most popular methods of scamming were through texts stating their orders were being held, prompting victims to click on a link and enter their details.
