Watch: Cat breaks record for world’s loudest purr
A 14-year-old feline from Cambridgeshire has registered a purr of 54.59 decibels, breaking the Guinness World Record for the world’s loudest purr by a domestic cat.
Bella, who lives in Huntingdon with her owner Nicole Spink, has a purr similar to the loudness of a kettle boiling.
“She likes to be loud with television. My late husband used to always moan about the sound of her purr blocking the sound of the TV in the evenings,” Spink said.
Bella’s record-breaking attempt was recorded and measured by independent specialist sound engineers and approved by a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
