‘I bought real Cartier earrings for £22 - haters say I’m a thief’
A Cartier customer who purchased earrings for £22 after they were listed as the wrong price on their website has won a claim against the luxury jeweller.
Rogelio Villarreal, from Mexico, bought two pairs of rose gold diamond earrings for MX$237 (£11) each.
The price was then amended to MX$237,000 (£11,046).
Though Cartier did not want to recognise the purchase and offered him a refund, champagne, and a passport holder instead, Mr Villarreal stood his ground and got Mexico's consumer protection agency involved - they ruled in his favour.
