‘We didn’t know it was on’: Australian pub goers underwhelmed by King Charles’ coronation

Australian pub goers have been reacting to King Charles III’s coronation playing on the TV screens - and they were underwhelmed to say the least.

Drinkers packed into Sydney’s Royal Hotel, in the hopes of catching a football game rather than the historic British moment.

“The Premier League’s on at midnight...that’s what we’re here for”, one man said, while another chimed in: “I didn’t even know it [the coronation] was on to be honest.”
