Artist moulds beautiful vase, before destroying it completely
This video of Minneapolis-based potter, Oliver Elias, creating a vase from scratch is weirdly soothing until you get to its ultimate destruction.
Elias explains that he often destroys the pieces he’s not fully satisfied with, saying it helps with the process of repetition and not getting too attached to the pieces he makes.
The artist went on to add: “If I don’t love it, I’ll break it,” which he certainly did in style as you’ll see in the above video as the what looks like perfect vase is reduced to mush.
