Theatre workers ‘spat at, physically threatened’ and ‘abused’, union boss says
The head of Bectu says theatre workers are being “spat at, physically threatened and racially and sexually abused.”
Philippa Childs was discussing the details of a survey carried out among workers in the industry on anti-social behaviour.
Speaking on Sky News, she said it appears to be a “post-pandemic trend” that is “getting worse.”
Ms Childs also said that alcohol could be a contributing factor to the behaviour.
She said those most impacted are working at ticket offices and as ushers, and “really don’t deserve” it.
