Greta Gerwig makes surprise cameo in Billie Eilish’s SNL performance

Greta Gerwig made a surprise appearance during Saturday Night Live (SNL) on Saturday, 16 December, before Billie Eilish performed a Barbie hit.

The film’s director and co-writer introduced the musical guest alongside host Kate McKinnon, before Eilish performed “What Was I Made For?” from the soundtrack.

As Eilish sang in her third appearance on the show, videos and photos of female SNL cast members past and present were projected behind her, in a nod to a similar scene from the Barbie film.
