Awkward moment Frank Skinner corrects The One Show’s Alex Jones on Camilla’s title
Frank Skinner plunged The One Show into confusion over the royal family after mistakenly correcting presenter Alex Jones.
The comedian, 66, appeared on Monday’s episode (16 October) alongside other guests Clare Balding and Coleen Rooney.
Jones and co-host Jermaine Jenas were wrapping up a segment on the BBC’s 500 Words challenge for children, revealing that 50 finalists will be invited to Buckingham Palace and “might even meet Her Majesty, the Queen”.
“They won’t meet Her Majesty, the Queen,” Skinner then said drily, correcting the presenters.
Jenas initially agreed with his comment, saying they got the announcement “slightly wrong” and meant to say “His Majesty” - before realising that Jones was talking about Queen Camilla and not the late Queen Elizabeth II.
