Kate Garraway gives advice to younger self before winning NTAs documentary award for Derek’s Story
Kate Garraway gave some advice to her younger self as she walked the National Television Awards red carpet on Wednesday (11 September).
The Good Morning Britain presenter won the Authored Documentary award for Derek’s Story, which shows the impact of long Covid on her late husband, Derek Draper, and her experiences being his carer.
Garraway dedicated the gong to Draper as she described the moment as “bittersweet.”
Speaking with her son and daughter on stage, she praised her team who helped create the documentary series and carers across the country as she called for a system which better supports them.
