‘Frightened’ Madonna stops concert mid-performance to deliver speech
Madonna addressed the Israel-Hamas war onstage during a concert at London’s O2 Arena, saying that what is happening in the Middle East makes her “want to vomit”.
“I see children being kidnapped, pulled off motorcycles; babies being decapitated, children at peace raves being shot and killed,” she said on the third date of her Celebration tour.
“What the f*** is going on in the world? How can human beings be so cruel to one another? It’s just getting worse. It frightens me.”
Madonna went on to paraphrase American writer James Baldwin, saying “the children of the world belong to all of us” and that “we are responsible for them”.
