John Legend defends hometown Springfield after Donald Trump’s bizarre cats and dogs claim
John Legend has defended his hometown of Springfield after Donald Trump made bizarre claims cats and dogs were being eaten there.
Trump was referring to a racist rumour spread by his running mate JD Vance that Haitian immigrants in the city of Springfield, Ohio had been abducting pets and eating them.
In response to Trump’s comments made during the live ABC presidential debate on Tuesday (10 September), the singer posted a video message defending his hometown.
Legend said: “Nobody’s eating cats, nobody’s eating dogs. We all just want to live and flourish.”
