Demi Moore fights back tears in powerful Golden Globes acceptance speech for The Substance
Demi Moore appeared emotional as she accepted her Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for The Substance on Sunday, 5 January.
Moore, 62, recalled how a producer once dismissed her as a “popcorn actress” 30 years ago and issued a defiant response as she accepted the gong.
“That corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I would’ve done what I was supposed to do.
”As I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe told me that you’re not done,” she added.
