Gladiator 2’s Denzel Washington shares only time he’s ever been ‘starstruck’
Gladiator II star Denzel Washington has opened up on the one time he’s ever been starstruck as an actor.
Speaking to The One Show with his co-stars Paul Mescal and Connie Nielsen, the 69-year-old — who plays former slave-turned-businessman Macrinus — recalled a time he met legendary actor Sidney Poitier.
Describing how the encounter left a mark on him, Washington reminisced: “He was sort of the Northern Star for me as a young, Black actor. He was the only one that… if he made it, I maybe had a chance.”
