Dragons’ Den stars baffled as duo try to sell £125,000 tickets to space
Dragons’ Den stars were left stunned as a pair of entrepreneurs pitched for investment for their space travel company.
Hopefuls Barry Shanks and Dave Doughty entered the Den asking for £75,000 for “Rocket Breaks”, which they hope will one day send people to space.
The catch, though, is that it won’t be happening anytime soon - and that ticket deposits cost £125,000.
Comparing wealthy “Rocket Breaks” clients to tourists booking safari holidays through an agent in a bid to convince the Dragons, it soon became clear that the entrepreneurs hoped to gain celebrity contacts from anyone investing.
“They want our black books so that they can sell their space tickets,” Sara Davies said, before Barry and Dave left with nothing.
