Cate Blanchett has shared the hilariously dark way she tried to convince her children to become vegetarians.

The actress revealed how she kept chicken and pigs at the family home in a failed bid to stop her children from eating meat.

“My little one was a pig whisperer, he loved them,” the 55-year-old told Jimmy Fallon on his Tonight Show on Thursday (26 September).

The mother-of-four then recalled what happened when the pigs, aptly named Benson and Hedges, died and her children were told the sausages on their dinner plate were very familiar.
