Hugh Grant reveals why Daniel Cleaver is making comeback in Bridget Jones 4
Hugh Grant has revealed why he was open to a return as Daniel Cleaver in the upcoming Bridget Jones sequel.
The fourth instalment in the franchise, titled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, will see Grant reprise his role as Cleaver alongside star Renee Zellweger.
His character was Bridget’s on-off love interest in the first two films.
However, Grant opted out of the third, 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby, and Daniel was seemingly killed off, but a teaser at the end revealed he had survived a plane crash, allowing him to return.
Asked why he signed up for film number four, Grant told Access Hollywood: “Because it’s a really good script... This one has a lot of heart as well as being very funny.”
