Wildfire rages through Rhodes forest as plane passenger films destruction
A massive forest fire has erupted on the popular tourist island of Rhodes in Greece.
Footage filmed by a passenger onboard a plane captured prominent flames tearing through the landscape as they flew over the scene.
Bright orange fires are seen radiating from within the forest as locals were ordered to evacuate.
A state of emergency has been declared in the towns of Petalouda and Kallithea following the devastating blazes.
While no injuries are yet to be reported, many parts of the island are experiencing a loss of power and water.
It comes as deadly wildfires continue to tear through Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Italy.
