Extreme weather interrupts TV reporter’s on-air segment about extreme weather
A Sky News journalist was almost swept away by a sudden surge of wind while reporting live on television.
Matthew Thompson was reporting outside in Box Hill, Surrey, on how UK wildlife has been affected by this year’s extreme weather, when an unexpected gust of wind buffetted him off balance, as he clung to his umbrella.
“Take care out there, don’t blow away,” warned anchor Sally Lockwood from back in the studio.
