Watch live as COP26 president Alok Sharma is questioned by MPs
The UK’s president of Cop26, Alok Sharma, is giving evidence to parliamentary committees on Wednesday afternoon (20 October).
The United Nations climate conference begins in Glasgow later this month, but earlier today, the Kremlin announced it will not be attended by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
His decision is seen as a blow to efforts to get global leaders to negotiate a new deal to stall rising global temperatures.
Ahead of Cop26, Mr Sharma will be giving evidence to parliamentary committees on science and technology, and transport.
