Your support makes all the difference.Perfectly situated for the upcoming festival in nearby well-heeled Holt (23-31 July), the Wiveton Bell is our sort of place. Just a few miles from the north Norfolk coast near Blakeney, it not only serves great food, but it's got six irresistible rooms to tumble into once you've exhausted the joys of its beamed bar and restaurant.
They've had the same chef here for a while, and it shows in the quality of the food, which is locally sourced, seasonal and always delicious. The rooms are on the welcoming side of posh, and are filled with all the things you need – big sprung beds with high quality linen, flatscreen TVs, DVD players (and a library of filmsto choose from), lots to read, stylish shower rooms with REN products.
Prices include all sorts of room treats (including a small bottle of prosecco for you to feel properly pampered on arrival) and a continental breakfast, with warm croissants delivered to your room each morning with a choice of newspaper.
Perhaps the nicest thing about the Bell, though, is that it's a proper pub, where locals and visitors stop by with their dogs for a pint, and as such a thoroughly relaxing place to stay – close to and in touch with the nearby sea and countryside. They also don’t make you leave at the crack of dawn when it comes to checking out but encourage you to linger and enjoy the peace while you can. Ditch the car while you're here and just soak it up – walking (there are lots of footpaths nearby), cycling and of course eating.
