Despite a surprisingly mild December, real ice and snow carved into hundreds of sculptures have sprung up in London.
An ice kingdom, which is being kept frozen at sub-zero temperatures, has been created by an international team of people at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Sculptors, all from different parts of the world worked to get it ready.

Pieces of ice art including frozen animals, fairies, a snow queen and a snow throne, produced using tools such as power drills and steel samurai swords.

Huge ogre, which is 5.5 metres tall and was cut from a huge block of snow.

Times as heavy as an elephant – that's how big the ogre is. It took two people two weeks to build.

Tonnes of snow and ice was used all together.
The endeavour was planned in April 2015, and construction began in July.
