Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Situated in the heart of rural Ceredigion in Wales, Denmark Farm Conservation Centre is the ultimate eco-retreat. A farm and nature reserve that runs courses in sustainable living and habitats management, it also has a campsite, bunkhouse, hostel and a self-catering eco-lodge that can accommodate anything up to 16 people in three separate apartments.

The great thing about staying in the lodge is that accomodation arrangements are flexible: you can occupy as much or as little space as you like, from two people to the upper limit of 16, so it's ideal for everyone from couples to families to large groups of friends or extended families.

The accommodation is crisp and clean, almost Scandinavian in feel, and is situated in the middle of Denmark Farm's 40-acre nature reserve, complete with woodland trails and hides, ponds, lakes and meadows; plus there are play areas outside and in the woods.

It's tightly focussed on sustainability and all profits go to help fund the work of the centre's nature and biodiversity charity, the Shared Earth Trust. But it's no hair-shirt enterprise – holidays here are both a comfortable and affordable way to enjoy this special, natural environment; and bear in mind also that you're in a fabulous part of Wales, with countless great walks on your doorstep. The beautiful Hafod Estate and the Devils Bridge Falls are nearby, as are the university town of Lampeter, the coast and any number of other great attractions, natural and otherwise.
