FROM 11 January to 31 March STA Travel (071-937 9962) is offering a return fare of pounds 345 on daily flights from London to Mexico City. During January and February Quest Worldwide (081- 547 3322) has return fares from Gatwick to Los Angeles for pounds 245.

The Travel Bug (061-740 4000) is offering return fares with Caledonian Airways from Manchester, Glasgow and Gatwick to Toronto from pounds 278 over the Christmas and new year period.

Next year, European seat-only specialist Euro Express (0444 235678) is introducing low-cost charter services from Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow to Vancouver with return fares starting at pounds 349.
